We are thrilled to introduce you to InclusiVR@Work – an innovative project dedicated to making European workplaces more inclusive for people with disabilities. Our mission? To reduce the employability gap by promoting understanding, empathy, and reasonable accommodation through the power of Virtual Reality (VR) technology.
Why InclusiVR@Work?
Despite progress, people with disabilities still face significant barriers in employment. Many of these barriers stem from a lack of awareness and understanding among employers and colleagues. InclusiVR@Work addresses this challenge head-on by:
- Harnessing VR technology to create immersive experiences that foster empathy.
- Helping companies and HR managers better understand the challenges faced by colleagues with disabilities.
- Deconstructing assumptions about disability and promoting real change.
What Are We Doing?
Here’s how we’re making a difference:
1. CPD Training for VET Trainers
We’re supporting Vocational Education and Training (VET) trainers to update their knowledge and teaching skills. Our focus is on using VR simulations to promote disability inclusion and demonstrate its benefits in the workplace.
2. Cutting-Edge VR Simulations
We are developing three new VR simulations that model visual, hearing and mobility impairments. These simulations are designed to:
- Raise awareness
- Encourage empathy
- Promote actionable change in workplace attitudes and practices
3. MOOC for HR Managers
Our Disability Inclusion MOOC (Massive Open Online Course) is tailored for HR managers. It includes a comprehensive guide to reasonable accommodation in Europe, empowering leaders to make informed, inclusive decisions.
A Proud Erasmus+ Initiative
InclusiVR@Work is proudly funded and supported under the Erasmus+ programme, the European Union’s flagship initiative promoting inclusion, diversity, and equal opportunities across education and training projects. Erasmus+ actively supports projects like ours that foster social inclusion and empower participants with disabilities to access meaningful employment.
